Earlier this year, one of our Year 4 pupils from Tawny Owls class went on a holiday to the Caribbean. Whilst there, he wanted to pay a visit to our new international charity that the children voted for this year and see some of the wonderful work that they do. Fortunately, we were able to sort an opportunity for him and his family to stop by a local primary school in Saint Lucia and, giving up his free time on holiday, he volunteered his time to help out at Balata primary school, assisting a session of active games and football skills. This trip was undoubtedly a once in a lifetime experience for him.
Our international charity is United Through Sport. A charity I (Mr Hardwick) have worked with in the past so have seen the remarkable work these do for the lives of so many children. They build on the foundations of sports to open new pathways and opportunities for children in some of the most deprived communities around the world.
Have a look on their website if you would like to find out more information about this charity: https://www.unitedthroughsport.org/
